For the love of Joplin...

In many respects, I have sympathy for Michael Vick.

From an early age, Vick has been groomed as an abuser, desensitized to animal cruelty as entertainment through no fault of his own.

Once a person pays his debt to society, our only hope is that some epiphany has occurred. We can't force a person to have remorse. We can't force a person to see things our way as part of what we perceive as a more civilized, humane world.

I don't begrudge Vick for having had the opportunity to resume his career. Remorseful or not, at least Michael Vick has options.
