...Just who are "White Saviors" anyway? 

We’re a mixture of many religious, political, and philosophical affiliations as well as personalities. We come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. We are acquainted with inequality, failure, heartbreak and loss. Our privilege protects us from systemic racism but not suffering.

We have the best of intentions. Yet blinded by our own self-righteousness, we can't even even find the shoes in which we should be walking. Segregated by virtue of affluence and culture, we rarely get out of our own ways much less comfort zones.

We are Accidental Tourists co-dependently enabling rather than slaying the beast once and for all. To truly break the cycle, we need to be seen and heard less if at all, humbling ourselves to listen, learn, and follow.

To truly empower we must let go.
