Most of us prefer art wrapped in all things
beautiful with warm and fuzzy happy endings, slathered in sugar-coating.
For over a decade, George and I have been more profoundly moved and influenced by the emotionally raw, uncensored aesthetic of Spoken Word. Riding waves of poetic narratives combined with provocative performances, audiences bear witness to voices struggling
to be heard.
Being “schooled” is humbling but also necessary in
order to walk in another person’s shoes if not live in them.
